Storytelling, not journalism, spurs most blogs

Thank God, I can still keep my job. According to this report from Cnet News, quoting Reuters, bloggers (at least in the US of A) are blogging mainly as a hobby than a vocation (like we do as journalist). Or perhaps the serious writers are not convinced of the powers of blogs. Or perhaps they’re too busy chasing stories and don’t have time to blog 😉

But the study cited in the story only covered less than 300 samples. So it is not really representative of millions of bloggers, IMHO.

The report says: “The Pew report was based on a telephone survey of 233 self-identified bloggers conducted between July 2005 and February 2006. The error margin was 6.7 percent.”
