Court convicts businessman for software piracy (updated)

A local court convicted businessman Nestor Yao, managing director of Gains Computer and Telecommunications Inc. for software piracy.

He was found guilty in two cases of illegally distributing software of Microsoft (not Microcost, thanks Gary for this correction, and yeah Freudian slip, nice one!) and Adobe Systems.

He faces imprisonment of three to six years, and fines of up to 200,000 pesos, the local court says.

This case came to its resolution eight years after he was charged.
