IT managers find career paths in information security

Information technology managers are now getting more training in security because information security is now becoming a crucial skill demanded by enterprises. In fact, in some countries like Hong Kong, CEOs can be sued if there are security or data breaches.

“Several years ago, IT security used to be a job function assigned to IT managers. Now, it has become a career, a specialty. We’re also seeing dedicated IT security positions within companies,” said Chester Soong, manager director of Hong Kong-based Security Consulting Services Ltd., and founding president of the Information Systems Security Association in the Hong Kong chapter.
