Acer sticks to channels, says direct selling in ‘crisis’

Taiwan-based computermaker Acer is not going the Dell way. It is sticking to a tried-and-tested channels marketing strategy, its key executives announced this week. Why? Dell’s direct model, they said, was in “crisis.” This will be their thrust as they gun for number 3 spot in the overall market for PC products (notebooks included).
